Delta's nonrev pass travelers now have one less thing to keep up with when they fly, as electronic boarding passes are now available on mobile devices. For those who prefer them, paper boarding passes also continue to be printable from personal computers or airport kiosks.

To obtain an electronic boarding pass, start by retrieving a nonrevenue listing in TravelNet and then click on the "Check In" button, which will direct users to the full HTML version of delta.com. (Note that electronic boarding passes are currently not available via the mobile version of delta.com or the Fly Delta app.)

After completing online check-in for a flight with a record locator number and departure airport, users will be given the option of having an electronic boarding pass sent to a mobile phone via text message.

Simply enter the country code and mobile number and a message with a link will show up within seconds.

Once the message is received, users can click the link to pull up the boarding pass in a browser window.

At the airport, once cleared on a flight, the gate printer will print the seat assignment when the mobile code is scanned. (The screen itself won't update with the seat assignment as it does for revenue passengers.)

"Employees tell us travel privileges are one of the most important perks of working for Delta," said Rob Kight, S.V.P. – Human Resources. "While there is more to do, this is why we've been using technology to make the nonrev experience easier and more convenient and we have more improvements planned for later this year and beyond."
